Gay Episcopal Bishop to Preach at San Francisco Catholic Parish
Catholic Culture ^ | 11/22/11

Posted on 11/23/2011 11:11:08 AM PST by marshmallow

A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.

Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.

Fine...

Answer these questions then.

When you die, are you SURE that you are going to heaven, right to heaven, no hell, no purgatory?

Are you sure that God will have mercy on you when you stand before Him or are you sure that you have it now? Or are you still begging for it like the other Catholics on this forum?

Read the following very carefully, and tell me what this means...

"...in the Eucharist we become partakers of the Body and Blood of God's only Son...[and] the partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ has no less an effect than TO CHANGE US INTO WHAT WE HAVE RECEIVED." - Vatican II. Austin Flannery, O.P., gen. ed.,Vatican Council II: The Conciliar and Post Conciliar Documents, rev.ed. (Costello Publishing, 1988), vol. 1, pp. 104,107,109.

Does anyone find that odd? What exactly are they saying they are being changed INTO?

it isn’t a matter of brain power, many brilliant Jews reject Jesus and His Church.

Paul tells us “ the unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God for they are folly to them and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned”

yes. Satan was bound at the cross for a 1,000 years ( mataphoric language that represents the time from the cross to shortly before the end of the world )

Satan will be loosed for a little while right before the end. With the falling away we are seeing from the Church, i think we are in that period currently.

Jesus will be returning shortly.

i don’t presume on Jesus.

Christians don’t believe in “once saved, always saved”.

i am in Christ, so if i died right now, i am going to heaven.

So you are saying that Satan has had no influence on the earth since Christ died on the cross?

Just....

wow....

If you're going to try to recite Scripture, you could at least try to get it right so you don't make a fool of yourself.

That passage says NOTHING about the gifts of the Spirit but rather wisdom of God.

1 Corinthians 2:6-16 6Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9But, as it is written,

"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"—

10these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

14The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

When it gets as low as the CC man made teachings - it is brain power. Some light bulb should go off. After all - catholics don't believe God's Word is The Final Authority. They dismiss it, ignore it, mock it. Nothing good will come out of that as all can see.

I gave that Scripture to you. Let's keep it honest.

Catholics who NEED interpreters - your church knows you are void of the Spirit. And so are they.

Is you little quiz done?

Behind the scenes exorcism prayers being done....candles lit...probable seances with the saint of the day for advice...This is just a lovely group of people we are dealing with here. No, Catholicism isn’t pagan at ALL. there are no “magic rituals” being performed...Judith Anne, which spirit do you communicate with? I had no idea that Vlad the Impaler had been made a saint.

no, i am saying he is bound in the sense that he can not frustrate nor stop the plundering of his kingdom by the spread of the Gospel by the Church.

Jesus said if you plunder someone’s home, you first must bind the strong man.

You stated: “do i need to explain again who the “Israel of God” is?”

I would love to hear it. If you have scriptural support that would be even better.

Thanks,

Christians don’t believe in “once saved, always saved”.

When you mean catholics - say catholics. Keep it honest and clear.

And what does 'in Christ' mean?

And what makes your worthy to go to heaven?

You are falling behind on your little quizzes. If you died tonight like you say, you will leave behind unfinished work.

Did you go to confession today? And did you have to force yourself to obey your confessor?

So he isn’t deceiving nations any more? Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more

Where does all their hatred and unbelief come from then?

you have to watch asking questions like this that anyone who really was once Catholic , knows doesn’t match Catholic belief

What kind of garblely gook is that? Is English your second language. Or are you having a meltdown?

CB, it's obvious where a lot of Satan's work is going on: The Roman Catholic Church. The postings on this forum make it obvious.

That’s the truth. The blind leading the blind. More correctly the deceiver leading the deceived.

"yes. Satan was bound at the cross for a 1,000 years (mataphoric language that represents the time form the cross to shortly before the end of the world)"

So, I guess this means nothing:

"Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us FROM THIS PRESENT EVIL WORLD, according to the will of God and our Father;". Gal. 1:3,4.

If Satan is bound now, where is this PRESENT EVIL WORLD located? And WHY hasn't the Catholic Church been able to turn THIS PRESENT EVIL WORLD into the Kingdom that Christ WILL establish when He returns? All should be puppies and butterflies by now, if Satan were bound, and the Catholic Church was in charge of bringing peace about.
