A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
I'm safe in the arms of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
By virtue of your birth?
None of what either one of us has posted matters because it conflicts with their egos.
Admitting they are wrong would mean converting to Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy.
It’s easier to play ostrich than have to confront the idea that their scriptural interpretations were not shared by early Christians.
Doesn't matter if it was said by Lewis, your pope, or you; their is no heavenly or spiritual benefit to having your flesh and blood nourished...
Your flesh, the 'old man' is the natural man...Not of God...The 'new man' is the spiritual man...
Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Yeppers, you’ve illuminated the obvious here when Protestants are questioned about their church; the important unity of belief is: Not Catholic.

ROFTLMAO, so are you the Unitarian or the UFO kook?
Oh, no, no, no, Big D... I just didn't rise to the bait. ;)
BIG difference.

“After the type had been fulfilled by the Passover celebration and He had eaten the flesh of the lamb with His Apostles, He takes bread which strengthens the heart of man, and goes on to the true Sacrament of the Passover, so that just as Melchisedech, the priest of the Most High God, in prefiguring Him, made bread and wine an offering, He too makes Himself manifest in the reality of His own Body and Blood.”
-”Commentaries on the Gospel of Matthew” [4,26,26] 398 A.D
that is what St Jerome believed on the Eucharist.
“he too makes himself manifest in the REALITY of His own Body and Blood”
can’t find the other names mentioned.
so, again NO CHURCH FATHERS ATTACKED THE REAL PRESENCE DOCTRINE. NO ONE TAUGHT IT WAS STILL JUST BREAD AND WINE AFTER THE BLESSING WAS SAID ( no one that is until “the reformers”
Berengarius of Tours was the first person in Church history to reject the real presence.
i saw that, really enjoyed it.
you are correct, but even he kept the unity of the faith.
In Luther’s defense, he got kicked out when he let his ego get in his way.
Had he not gone off the rails, he’d possibly be a canonized saint today.
It's very egotistical of you to think that being "right" would mean converting to Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy. So...who has the "ego" problem?
As soon as you can PROVE from God's Word your beliefs, then we have a starting point. Until then, your spitting in the wind with your doctrines and traditions being on "equal par" with God's infallible Word.
You avoided answering that question altogether. And I complimented your choice in relative honesty.
Seriously, FRiend, there is no need to be alone without any church, I sincerely hope you are not. And that if you are, you reach out or accept the reaching out of others near you.
I hope this is the last we speak of this.
i agree again. Luther loved the Church and i think if the Pope had handled him better, the unity of the faith could have been maintained. ( at least in Luther’s case )
There is nothing in Catholicism that is in harmony with the Bible.
Say what?
Psalm 25:1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. 2O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. 3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. 4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. 6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer
Catholics would do well to read scripture without the influence of the RCC. Reall Christians read the scripture and test what others say.
Yes, the “bait” was to look at a vast difference in soteriology in Protestantism relevant to our discussion.
You’ll understand if I call that conceding the point.
Until you address it of course.
:)
