The Roman Church is not the bride. It has members of the bride living in it, but it an an institution is not the bride. To imagine that a man-made institution is the bride is immature of any Christian (and yes, the Roman Church is the product of centuries of being shaped and fabricated by men, not by the Holy Spirit, unless you believe The Holy Spirit inspires indulgences and burning people at the stake). Protestantism is a man-made reaction to the man-made vagaries of the Roman Church. There are members of Christ’s Bride in both the Roman Church and Protestantism. They became members of the Bride because they hold that single vital belief God requires.
