I’m referring to the so-called “Spirit of Vatican II” when I discuss the neo-Protestant Catholic bishops, clergy, and laity.

Most of whom have never been catechized, so they have gravitated toward Protestant ideas because of the dominant Protestant, now secular culture.

Many Catholics in America have long had an inferiority complex vis-a-vis Protestants due to the decades of discrimination they faced.

Pope Leo XIII noted this as far back as the 19th century when he warned of the phantom heresy of Americanism.

Good.Thanks for the clarification! As ardent reader of Pope Leo XIII’s various letters and encyclicals we both know he saw the future of Americanism
