Dispensationalism is not of the same cloth as cults such as Mormonism.

Nearly every ‘denomination’ tends to be fruitful for about 200 years then tends to drift into a degenerate form.

Catholicism got the doctrine of the Trinity right after several hundred years of effort. It also studied the doctrine of the hypostatic union well.

The Reformation better developed the doctrine of sanctification and soteriology.

The later denominations such as Dispensationalism grew in doctrines of eschatology and it is only proper as a rigorous understanding of eschatology is built upon the other doctrines presented in Scripture. Another reason for it being in the later portions of His Word.

Every denomination has its flaws, which is why believers throughout the Church Age will place their faith in Christ first, prior to any other and separate from any other, letting God the Holy Spirit perform His work in the individual believer by His Plan.

Warren and Osteen are examples of Evangelical Protestantism in its mature phase.

And Cardinal Law and Mahony are examples of Catholicism in its mature phase. I'll take a con-artist over a pedophile protector any day...

I appreciate the candor of your response.

Thanks for your honesty.

1. I believe that the "Mary = the Ark of God" notion to be a camel's nose under the tent that the RC's take to wild and very UNBiblical extremes.

2. They use that notion to support the Deification of Mary to very UNBIBLICAL AND UNGODLY lengths--any would be too far!

2.1 It is virtually lock-step with the slight of linguistic hand which they use when they BRAZENLY INSIST that Mary is the "Mother of Gawd!" . . . knowing full well, that gives them an enormous leg-up on yet another layer and embelishment of Mary's deification.

2.2 I have no apologies for standing fiercely and forcefully against that horrific idolatrous heresy.

2.3 I can well understand how the metaphor thrills and warms the hearts of those so intent on deifying their favorite mother figure. I don't find it Biblical nor accurate.

2.3.1 CHRIST is NOT some "ARTICLE" placed in some 'box' of wood or flesh! CHRIST IS THE LIVING WORD; CREATOR GOD; THERE FROM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD!

2.3.2 I have long thought that God withdrew the real Ark from public or private use for centuries partly because THE LIVING WORD was to be the 100% ENTIRE FOCUS of those seeking a RELATIONSHIP with God vs a RELIGION with IDOLATROUS ARTICLES to focus on.

2.3.3 The hymns, poems and imagry fondling of the whole metaphor of Mary = Ark are blasphemous in construction and operation. At a minimum they divert, distract from Christ's Glory. Folks who think THAT pleases the authentic MARY OR FATHER GOD ARE truly delusional as well as UNBiblical.

2.4 Even IF I were to say that there's some degree or level that the metaphor would be functionally edifying and illustrative, I couldn't BEGIN to travel a millimeter down the road to where the RC's take it. I find it much more RATIONAL to nip it in the bud, cut it off at the root level.

2.5 What does the metaphor offer Christians that is lacking from the straight Gospel? NOTHING!

2.6 INDEED--it is YET ANOTHER FARCE ABOUT THEIR BELOVED

!!ASHTEROTH-MARY-GODDESS CARICATURE!!

2.7 NO THANKS to the least degree. What an INSULT to the authentic Mary. SHE HERSELF cringes or worse at every such focus on herself vs on Christ HER LORD.

3. This thread began with plenty of VERY OUTRAGEOUS assertions very brazenly put.

4. I'm not, per se, ridiculing any individuals but am fiercely articulating contrasts to perspectives, beliefs, assertions, postulations, positions. There's a difference. USUALLY, most Proddys appreciate those differences between INDIVIDUALS and the beliefs etc. of the individuals much more than RC's do. Of course, if folks CHOOSE to FEEL ridiculed, that's their business and their problem.

5. Quite a contengent of FREEPERS of various persuasions have been utterly and thoroughly 100% convinced that Quix is a certified or certifiable loon, idiot, demonized, psychotic, mean-spirited etc. almost from the beginning. I doubt anything I could do or say or not do or not say would alter their perceptions on such scores 1/1,000,000th of 1%

Joe Pro Bono graciously provided a gif some time ago in honor of such attitudes and perspectives:

I don’t think any of us can understand the mind of God on how He spends people.

Sometimes it seems like He spends individuals, families, tribes, nations . . . like water.

Other times, an individual is used of God in priceless, incredibly powerful and protected ways.

Nevertheless, the Scripture is clear that in general . . . in an era . . . God has not appointed HIS PEOPLE UNTO WRATH.

The other exhortations about the PRE-TRIB rapture in the links I posted above are worth folks’ considerations.

St.Hildegard; “The great nation in the ocean that is inhabited by people of different tribes and descent by an earthquake, storm and tidal waves will be devastated. It will be divided, and in great part submerged. That nation will also have many misfortunes at sea, and lose its colonies in the east through a Tiger and a Lion.” The Comet by its tremendous pressure, will force much out of the ocean and flood many countries, causing much want and many plagues. [After the] great Comet, the great nation will be devastated by earthquakes, storms, and great waves of water, causing much want and plagues. The ocean will also flood many other countries, so that all coastal cities will live in fear, with many destroyed. All sea coast cities will be fearful and many of them will be destroyed by tidal waves, and most living creatures will be killed and even those who escape will die from a horrible disease.”

I have a witness to that one in my spirit.

However, Quix is not allowed to say such things so please ignore my affirmation.

I think we use the word ‘anti’ too loosely around here. In my view, most if not all posters here are against certain beliefs but are not against the persons who hold those beliefs.

ABSOLUTELY INDEED!

BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD!
BLESSED BE THE WORD OF THE LORD!
BLESSED BE THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB!

I noted with Pastor over lunch today . . . I was basically Pre-Trib as I think that has the most Biblical support etc. However, I'm not going to have my faith crash and burn regardless of how God works things out.

Thanks tons dear Sister in The Lord.

This is actually a very interesting topic.

Although representative government is generally superior to monarchy, I think it would be better to have Constantine Part Deux than the current leadership.

Thanks for your kind words and tone in your thoughtful reply.

That’s just not how I read Scripture nor history.

For one, I don’t think we can know the full mind of Christ on the matter as He has not made such clear.

It seems to be one of those things He deliberately left for the faithful to dig out with the guidance of Holy Spirit.

His Word does mention His preference, requirement for our doing that . . . speaking of the ‘hidden things of God’ . . . a ‘time’ for their being known etc. . . . a number of times.

It was made up out of whole cloth by Darby.

I've added to the prior extensive documentation to the contrary and still you insist on posting such farcical assertions.

Sigh.

My bias is that THE TRUTH is more important than willfully blind personal bias . . . regardless.

Thanks.

That’s a more accurate documentation of that than I’ve read in a long time.

WRONG.

AS Giovanna and others have documented hereon repeatedly.

Willful blindness is not wise nor Biblical.

Liberal Protestantism and modern Evangelicalism are the offspring of the 17th century Pietist movement that placed emotional experiences of God ahead of faith and doctrine.
