The way to avoid this particular contention and denial is to PROVE IT OR SHUT UP. If an accusation is made, PROVE IT. If someone has given the correct acknowledgments, then they have done what they were supposed to do. If you don't like the acknowledgments that were made, then write to the author and complain about what they wrote.
