I will not speak for your cousins just myself. Not one time was I taught to mislead or be dishonest. When I sin, it is my own decision and I am responsible for that. Not anyone, anything else.
They have said much more about lds but not fit for mixed company, lets just say: two decided they are homosexual, one decided they were a witch, one an atheist and one took their own life - all as a result of lds and what they went through. My aunt and uncle dutifully fulfill what is a required alienated from their children, once the kids left mormonISM they were shunned by their own parents. Not a very happy place.
