Another person who had a profound affect on my leaving mormonism is my now (and only) husband.

We grew up together off and on and one day I thought he was going to ask me out (we had just started at the same college) and instead he told me he could no longer be friends with me because I was Mormon (I converted in High school) and I was headed for Hell and it hurt him.

I moved to Utah shortly after that but I never forgot it, his blunt comment (judging or attacking to you) hurt me, but it also haunted me. I never forgot it. Some years later as I was leaving Mormonism, he was the first one I called to tell. He was also instrumental in my becoming a Christian - before we even started to date.

Bluntness works.

Between Husband and Wife, you have to be Blunt.

To beat around the bush is to put your marriage at risk, if only this conversation would have happened before you were married.
