Sola Scriptura? Of course there is scripture to point to to show that scripture is to be the standard by which we test the doctrines and words of men.

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Did you notice the words “perfect” and “thoroughly”?

Then we have the example of the those in Berea that Luke wrote about in Acts. Even after Paul and Silas had spoken to them they still “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so”. An example that all teaching needs to be compared to scripture. That’s what Sola Scriptura means. Surely you weren’t talking about Solo Scriptura are you?

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Then there is this.

I Corinthians 4:6 “Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us you might learn not to go beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.”

And the Trinity?

We covered that rather extensively earlier in this thread. You need to keep up.

Now, how about the scriptural authority for the bodily assumption of Mary? Surely by challenging me you have something prepared to show scripture proof for that right?
