I double checked the quotes and not all of them are from the yahoo link. CAWW is correct, they came from various sources online.

Shows a remarkable ignorance about the Rosary.

Fail. Only the first few came from that source, other came from other sources. Why don’t you mind your own business, JA?

It isn’t unusual for people who do research to have collections of amalgamated sources combined and stored on their computer and sometimes sources do get lost in those collections.

No, it shows the pagan dispersion and adaptation in western Christianity.

Mind my own business? I’m a Catholic, this is a lame and inaccurate discussion of the Rosary. What do you think my business IS, if not participation in a discussion of the Rosary? Particularly an inaccurate discussion of the Rosary?

The Rosary is a solemn meditation on events in the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

Mnd giving me the other sources?

No, it shows the pagan dispersion and adaptation in western Christianity.

How does a meditation on the events in the life, death and resurrection of Christ do that?

Yeah, mind your own business you butted into a conversation between the RM and CAWW.

Your hypersensitivity is annoying. Many things in Christianity have pagan roots, that doesn’t make them not useful or purposeful, it is just a fact. While I have never been a fan of the rosary, I have kept the one from my years in Catholic school and remember the meditations. I’m not one of the ones who claim Catholics worship Mary either but I will admit I have always been uncomfortable with the Marian emphasis of the Rosary.

And I’m not your lap dog, so do your own research.

The use of beads, similarities in prayer and function, ie the mechanics of the Rosary are based in pagan tradition. No biggie so are a lot of Christian traditions and holidays.

What research? You made a claim, back it up.

Just to be clear Judith Anne...I have not been having a discussion with you about Rosaries, of which there are indeed many types, used by many faiths and religions, having their history in various pagan ceremonies historically as well as today...though you are free to comment in general of course, as are any on FR.

Check on the tab for Greek at this link......

http://biblos.com/philippians/2-5.htm

“KJV with Strong’s
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”

*Attitude* does seem to be a really good translation, if you go by the technical definition of the word. It seems in our language usage, however, attitude implies a more emotional response as opposed to an actual way of thinking. It may be more our corruption of the word *attitude* than anything.

We ‘cooperate’ by our faith, not works. All we must do is believe, good works flow out of the belief, but is not a requirement for salvation.

That was very succinctly put. Excellent way of expressing it.

This is all the action required......

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I think the moderator and I can handle this fine.

I agree. Nobody needs to hold the RM's hand so he can do his job.

Shows a remarkable ignorance about the Rosary.

Fine. Then refute it point by point and show caww where he's wrong, using links of course, instead of just acting like the Self-Appointed Posting Police.

You can start with this one.....

caww: -The rosary has 10 times as many prayers addressed to mary as to God the father, with none addressed to Christ or the Holy Spirit. It is designed as a devotion to Mary thus exhaulting a human being above God.

Last count was 50 "Hail Mary's" and "5 Our Father's".

Is that incorrect, the numbers of each prayer?

BTW, should we whine about pinging the cadre?

Yes, it's better if everyone stays out when a moderator steps in...they know what they're doing IMO and important the conversation between Moderator and Poster flows smoothly so that there is no misunderstanding in what's being corrected.

When this is so we all learn clarity as the parties directly involved dialog...I have learned in the past when something might not be clear by just observing their exchange.
