Before the fall, man ( HAD ) truly " Free Will " for GOD gave Adam and Eve the choice to " FREELY " eat of ( ANY ) tree in the garden, but, not that of the tree of the ( KNOWLEDGE of Good and Evil: Paul " For I had not known sin until the law ).
God gave Adam and Eve a choice, to choose between eating " FREELY " of ( ANY ) tree ( and that included the tree of life )but, he commanded them ( yes, he gave them a commandment even before the fall, and yet ? in that ? they were not prefect, disobedient ).
So the choice came down to this: live in the Grace of God, or live in the curse, the law, the knowledge of good and evil.
For the letter kills, but, the spirit gives life.

It's anyone's choice, live in life giving Grace in Jesus Christ, or life according to the law, in which, gives death.
The doctrine that gives glory to GOD is of God, and the doctrine that give's the glory to man, is of man.

The message that tells us that Salvation is of only of GOD, is of GOD, and the message that tells us that Salvation is of man's efforts is of the world's failed attempt to approach GOD is of religion.
Those who fail to see that Salvation is of God's doing and not man's futile efforts are blinded like the religious Pharisees.

"Choosing" is not an exercise of "Free Will", what sort of person would willfully choose an eternity of Damnation?

Apparently the term "spiritually dead" has zero meaning to the Free Will Enthusiasts.
