Many Catholics do not seem to realized that the Catholic church teaches that Mormonism is not a Christian religion.

Interesting note regarding this. If a person was baptized Lutheran, Methodist, Evangelical, Presbyterian, or any other Christian church as either an infant or adult, the Catholic church will accept their baptism for conversion.
However, if someone was only ever baptized Mormon, then the Catholic church requires re-baptism in order to convert.
That distinction there should make any Catholic reconsider the meme that the LDS are Christians.
