Know Mormons' beliefs before voting for them
WyomingTribuneEagle ^ | July 9, 2011 | Dion Clark

In response to whether the public should vote for a Mormon for president, one should know what beliefs a candidate had.

Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman have Mormon roots and they have been vague about their beliefs and loyalty to the LDS church.

Mormon theology includes ideas like their priesthood brethren will become the government leaders, or future kings of the world, in a globalized theocracy, and that their male leaders will take over when a second coming of Christ occurs. They believe they are the pre-ordained leaders to rule over a coming theocratic kingdom.

Worthy Mormon males are temple attending, dressing in white with special learned handshakes, altar rituals, Masonic rites and gestures and do secretive activities different from normal society.

They believe they are the future gods of new worlds in a life after this one. They follow prophets with ever-changing doctrine and change their fictional "Book of Mormon" every time it is found to be un-politically correct.

Their women are taught they are good for breeding, to have large families.

A member of this cult is loyal to its church leaders and to whatever their modern prophets tell them is gospel, which changes at their will.

They claim to be Christian, but Mormon polytheism of many gods/goddesses in a hereafter, rituals that must be performed in their temples, garment wearing and works (not grace) that saves a person is different ideology.

It is debatable whether Mormons are Christians, and they have other scriptures special to Mormonism written by their leaders, not just the New Testament, like their Doctrine and Covenants and Book of Mormon.

To learn about them and their practices, beliefs and personal character will help us determine whether they are the future leaders of Americans. Or are they really stuck in their controversial past?

defend their right to practice their goofy, blasphemous “religion”, this being America and all.

- - - -
No one here has ever said they don’t have the right to practice their religion, but we have the same right to criticize and speak out against it.

Then it's no go for me. I will hold out for Seagram's and John Labatt. That means more than being god of my own universe and a harem of houris each more beautiful than the others, and....

Well....hmmmm....

Do they give out free samples?

I DID substantiate it. No point clogging up THIS thread with posts from the other since there were so many posts by you on there.

And I did not and will not apologize, for I did not lie.

Anyone who wants, can go to those threads and see I am not lying.

I hope that this is not about other people or trying to make this personal.

I was looking for a clarification of the rule about list a persons posts.

In http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2553808/posts?page=57#57 we had this discussion.

Posts # 57 the MR clarified.

It was explained to me that is was ok to reference prior posts.

Badgering a poster on the Religion Forum by serving up a litany of his posts is "making it personal."

Repeating or excerpting previous posts relevant to the issues is ok.

IMHO

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2749454/posts?page=444#444, posts 426,427 are not relevant to the issues of this thread.

Post 479 is personally about me.

I know that you are a cradle Catholic, and I am surprised that you work in behalf of Mormonism on this thread.

I don't know why you ignored post 170.

Your household is one thing, freerepublic is another, there is no reason to keep promoting Mitt Romney as a viable choice here at FR.

Why drag the mod into this? Can you not fend for yourself?

I’m protestant, and I don’t defend the Mormon cult in any way, but I certainly would defend their right to practice their goofy, blasphemous “religion”, this being America and all.

America and the Mormons had some real differences about that practicing of their "religion", luckily Mormonism received a message from God that America was right on the issue and the Mormons changed their "religion".

Note that my score in reading comprehension was 97%tile.
You have yet to prove that here.

If you have any further questions regarding a simple rule - PM the mod OK bm. Perhaps they may be more impressed by your reading comprehension the I.

I hope I'm able to post more of the same article.

You have been informed that a link to the article you copied this from must be posted with the article.

You have not done so in Post 462.

Well, it's true. It is little valued here. And you are the proof. Try to have an intelligent conversation here, and one is simply attacked rudely, and usually with a personal smear (as in the word "pimp"). I remember an FR, years ago, that was different, and far more civil. JR probably does, too.

As for Romney being Obama, you have got to be kidding. He has his flaws, and I'm sure you can count far more of them than I, but he's not the Manchurian Candidate. Obama is.

No, I am not a Mormon, just a Christian Conservative sick to death of these boring anti-Mormon diatribes.

No one is forcing you to read these threads. Just ignore them if you find them boring.

Well, I wasn’t defending Mormonism. Frankly, I think its weird. I was just trying to have a civil conversation, something that used to happen more readily here. Now, disagree with anyone and you get slammed, ridiculed, insulted. FR is a wonderful clearinghouse of information, and it helps to combat the bias of the liberal media (Pravda), but as a place for thoughtful conversation and civilized debate, no, sad to say . . . those days are gone.

Ok. I forgive you. You made a mistake and now can't back up your statement. You made a fabulous and false claim claim then could not support it and refuse a gracious second opportunity to do the same.

You listed some threads to which I posted, but nothing to even remotely substantiate your claim. While you lied about me supporting Casey Anthony I still accept your apology.

Really, it's ok. You are forgiven. Learn from your falsehood and strive to do amend your ways. God bless.
