I can definately see good conservative Baptist groups barring no-fault divorce, but I thought they allowed it(and remarriage) for adultery and other grave sins? Maybe that is just some Baptists? What do the Southern Baptists do?

I don’t have experience with the Southern Baptists, but the understanding was is that even if the marriage failed for reasons that had nothing to do with the spouse, (ie, abandoment, infidelty), that the proper response was to live apart from your spouse and not to take on another.

I used to stay with a very good woman who’s husband had walked out on her and her son. I used to help her son out (I was close to her son’s age), when we attended the same church. She was hurt when I left that Church to become a Catholic, she took it as a personal rejection of her. I am very thankful for her kindness but it has been a very long time since I last saw her.
