I’m reminded of a scene from the tv series “M*A*S*H” in which Hawkeye Pierce apologizes to Father Mulcahy because he’s about to perform an “unmarriage ceremony” for Major Winchester and some cute blonde lady. “I’m afraid this service may not be in line with the tenets of your religion, Father,” and Col. Potter responds, “I didn’t know tennis was a religion!”
I read at least one book a week, and sometimes two. All fiction, all relatively light reading, but I can't tell you how many misspelled words I see these days. At one time, one could rely on correct grammar and spelling from most publishers, but it's shocking how poorly edited most publications are today. With computers and the ability for an author to have complete control over the entire process, it's alarming how much writing has deteriorated.
