If NFP is used to avoid having the children that God has destined for us, it is only different from contraceptives in that is maybe a lesser sin. Let's not fool ourself, just because we might have lax/blind prelates and laity advisers.

I agree with your point, if what you're saying is that NFP could be used by some people with a contraceptive mentality, e.g. to avoid children for antichild "lifestyle" reasons. NFP can be used in a wise and holy way when there is a morally serious reason to avoid another pregnancy, i.e. when having another child would, in view of economic, health, or some other factors in your family situation, be reckless or irresponsible.
