Lie: -a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood. -something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture. -an inaccurate or false statement.
Accusations of lying? Care to site any examples on this thread or is this something you just post in all debates with protestants.

Well, I don’t get involved with debates with Protestants. I read what they post and learn and grow in faith. I find them fine Christians.
Then there are the bigots. They don’t act like Christians. I call them “Know Nothings” and they flourish here.

Since it is my day off, I have dinner duty. So I will be happy to cite those lies on this thread, but it will have to wait until after clean up. But if you are impatient, just look at any posting that says Catholics worship Mary. That person is either completely misinformed, or, if they have been corrected in the past on this misinformation, they are a liar.

The first time it is being misinformed and it can happen to anyone. The second time, well, that is where the evil comes in. Then, if you demand that the lie is the truth, that is bigotry. And finally if you cloak it in false righteousness, you get the hypocrisy. (Just like smearing someone and hitting the abuse button when they call you out.)

Third time is a charm. I’m still trying to reply to you, but there seems to be static on the line. Sorry it has been edited from the original. But we’ll get it straight eventually:
In post #182 I said I would get back to you, so here it goes.

” Accusations of lying? Care to cite any examples on this thread or is this something you just post in all debates with Protestants?”

Let’s start with the article at the link. It’s drivel. Hmmm, a site that has on the page linked, both “Mike’s message on evangelizing Catholics...” and “Catholicism vs. Evangelical Christianity”. Yup, sounds like a place to go to hear accurate information on the Catholic Church. I guess since a certain cartoonist can’t be mentioned here, this must be a good substitute.

So, an anonymous guy writes a letter and claims to be the former Director of Public Relations for the Queen of Peace Center in Dallas, Texas. Hmm, sounds important. So I Googled “Queen of Peace Center Dallas Texas” and came up with the address of 5706 Trail Meadow Dr. Dallas Texas 75230. And, you know how cool Google is? They included a map. So clicking on the Bird’s Eye feature I saw what looked to be a house in a neighborhood. It was a corner lot at the intersection of Trail Meadow Dr. and Park Preston Drive. Nice trees, but maybe a bit close to the Dallas North Tollway. Probably a bit noisy. Doesn’t look to have much of a back yard.

But don’t let it throw you off just yet. It might be a secret Vatican safe house. You know, where they manufacture images of the Virgin Mary in pancakes and Jesus on a tortilla. But getting back to this Queen of Peace Center where this guy was the Director of Public Relations, do you think he had his own room? Or did he have to share?

So the guy says he is a non-Catholic director who claims to have co-authored an ad for the Dallas Morning News in 1993. 18 years ago! Not a lot of ways to check the validity of that! But the phone number: 214-233-6279, well, I wasn’t inflating my phone bill for that, but a reverse phone number shows it is an unpublished number in Dallas. Doesn’t say a lot for an organization that isn’t even listed. At this point it made me wonder why this non Catholic felt so privileged to be on a board for a religion he didn’t even belong to, run out of a house with an unlisted phone number. But it’s your link and posting and you don’t seemed bothered by it.

But Mike Gendron, mentioned next in the article, he sure is listed on Google. It seems he is another anti-Catholic. An anti-Catholic pastor at that. So, an anti-Catholic web site has an anonymous letter citing another anti-Catholic. But wait, something was familiar. Oh, I know! The anonymous article to your link mentioning Mike Gendron was on Mike Gendron’s site! Yes, the person mentioned runs the site! Sells his books there too. And what are those books? Why, anti-Catholic books of course! So the non Catholic Director who has board meetings in a house near the highway just happens to pall around with an anti-Catholic pastor hawking anti-Catholic books, and writes a letter to the anti-Catholic web site run by the anti-Catholic pastor, and this is what you found, and decided to put up on Free Republic.

Heck, I’m sold.

Next up, “Catholicism, Crisis of faith”. Clicking on that, the first search entry is at (He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named Publications). Sorry RM, that is a matter of fact. But I’m sure it is as objective as you could find at either Gendron or (He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named) Publications. It probably isn’t just another anti-Catholic hit piece from an anti-Catholic pastor or an anti-Catholic web site. Probably.

Well, following along with the link the anonymous person tells how fantastic Mike is (on Mike’s web site.) for stopping and explaining his bigotry at each cut of the anti-Catholic film. What a guy. At this point I begin to wonder what exactly your standard is? I mean do you vet what you post, or does anything anti-Catholic pass muster? What about Father Cogin’s Catechism? Is it the official catechism of the Catholic Church? Or is it a catechism? What is a catechism? Do you know or care? What about the Baltimore Catechism? Or the Catechism of the Catholic Church? Are they all the same thing? You’re putting this out there. Do you care about truth or are you just into smears that feed into your bigotry? (As I perceive it, of course.)

There is that definition again. You didn’t like that earlier. I bet you didn’t like the “lie” definition either. But you are known by your actions and right now they stink. You post an anti-Catholic fake article on a Catholic hating bigot’s web site and get huffy when I put a warning sticker on your actions. You want me to point out the lies? Start with what you posted, slick. (As I perceive it, of course.)

Skipping down through the unsupported smears by the bigots we get to the Coming-to-Jesus moment where this non Catholic tears down his ‘alter’ and puts away his scapulars, rosaries, and medals, and finds out that Jesus alone is his savior.

That was the first, honest, representation of the belief of a Catholic in the whole shoddy article. For all the rest it is a lie, told by a liar, and probably made up out of whole cloth. I only say probably because I don’t care enough to dig into this stink any more than I have already.

So tell me, how do you square what you posted with the Gospel according to Matthew?

“But beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but within are ravening wolves.
By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a worthless tree produce good fruits.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.”
or
“...Jesus said, “Are you still lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”

Is this how you wish to be known? Posting articles like this attacking Christians with lies? What is your heart like? How will you be known? By posts like this?

Moving on to the posts. So many to cover. Let’s just lump them into categories, shall we? Save on time? The category can describe the poster’s actions or the sentiment in general terms only as they are perceived, not specifically. That would be making it personal and we don’t want that. You will notice the lack of Catholics and some Protestants listed? Or their posts? It is because they aren’t behaving in an evil manner.

Category 1: Probably of good intention but not really informed, or just wrong.
4,17,19,30,36,61, 74, 91, 100, 103(but a valid post),111,115, 181, 184, 196, 198, 227, 237, 241, 255, 258, 260, 269,

Category 2: Wrong information or led astray by people with a rash.
1,112, 122, 123, 129, 131, 150, 159, 170, 203, 239, 252,

Category 3. Probably I would perceive them negatively.
13, 51, 84, 87, 89, 132, 133, 140, 141, 143, 167, 169, 175, 199, 216, 218, 223, 229, 232, 244, 249, 253, 254, 265, 274, 278, 282, 285,

Category 4: Future Religion Moderators
2,37, 43, 44,48, 52, 75, 82, 105, 107, 118, 121, 153, 202, 213, 225, 228, 234, 235, 240, 250, 275,

Enough. These little cross burnings on Catholic Church lawns can go on for hundreds of more posts and if you haven’t got the proof by now of the validity of the warning sticker, it is because you don’t want to. I can’t fix that.
Dinner was good by the way, tried a new way of cooking chicken and it worked out. I’m not always so successful on “Dad’s trying something new for dinner.”
Take care. I’ll say a prayer for you.
