The next stage of the sex abuse issue and the pretext for the coming persecution and purification of the Church; Catholics as a whole are complicit. This is also the line pushed by various Freepers. You know who you are; "Catholics on these boards defend sex abuse".

History repeats itself. During the French Revolution, corruption among a small percentage of the clergy was used as the pretext for a bloody persecution of Catholicism.

As for Rice, her rage is fueled by another issue which will also be used against the Church in the future; the homosexual question and the the Church's supposed persecution of homosexuals. Throw in complicity in the spread of a deadly disease (AIDS), for its stand on condoms and persecution of women for its fight against abortion and the "Catholic problem" becomes very real.

All the ingredients are there. It's simply a matter of time and the further decay of western morality.

The people who have consented to calling pederasty “jolly”, or some synonym of the word (sorry, I’ve misplaces my Roget’s), and everything that follows from it, like the acceptance of pederast parades down Main Street, and all other manifestations of mainstreaming of perversion, have the chutzpah to expect the Church to differ from the rest of the corrupt society, and observe another moral standard.

I have heard that her son is homosexual. Like many other Catholic Parents of children guilty of sexual immorality—she hates the Church for the unwillingness of the child to accept responsibility for his actions. The irony is that the crimes of these wayward priests were generally homosexual acts.

Is there any truth to the rumor she is engaged to Charlie Sheen and will start issuing statements jointly?

Um... didn’t Rice write a ton of books filled with pedophila? She had books with baby vampires (did they have sex? I don’t know) but she also had books about priests and young boys (Cry to Heaven). Who is she kidding?

Did she join the Church just so she could be an ex-Catholic?

At best, Anne Rice is a useful idiot for the Lavender Mafia. At worst, she knows exactly what she's doing.

Remember--one of the tenets of the atheist left is to always accuse your enemies of what you yourself are doing.

>> Publicly demand that the Vatican come clean on clergy abuse, and begin some worldwide moral reform to see that this kind of blatant criminal behavior is never enabled and protected again? <<

Define coming clean for us, Ms. Rice. How many lawsuits has the Catholic Church LOST? They ALMOST settle. And how many non-disclosure agreements does the Catholic church insist on as part of those settlements, Ms. Rice?

This is not to assert there’s any spiritual virtue in that they settle, without non-disclosure agreements. Given the legal climate, it’s at best shrewd. But it does make one wonder what “coming clean” means. Does she know something that HASN’T come to light? If so, why doesn’t she publish, even if she can’t prove it. Come forward, and maybe someone ELSE can furnish evidence. Oh, that’s right, Ms. Rice. You don’t have a god-d**ned clue what you’re talking about. Sorry for the censored language, but I mean that literally, Ms. Rice. You made your money promoting the works of Satan, and you’re back at it.

I suppose what some people want is that the Church would simply give every claimant tens of millions of dollars each, with no questions asked. But then, even if every current claim is 100% true, how could that inspire new claims that are false? And then, once every diocese is bankrupt, who will pay the real claims? And who will pay for the inner-city schools, the hospitals, the retirements of the good priests, the anti-poverty efforts, the food banks?

And just to be clear, I’m sure that there are individual diocese which have NOT been forthcoming. And Ann Rice might have a good case to insist that they come clean. But then, she’s not trying to correct any real abuse. She’s trying to demagogue, and so any substantive demands would be contrary to her purpose. Christ wants the guilty exposed and punished; Satan wants the entire Church discredited by the actions of his servants.

alas, you are correct. The catholics stand in the way of the nwo agenda.

Here in the Philippines, they are trying to stop the “western” birth control agenda being pushed on our people. They promote it as “reproductive rights” but the elites in the papers admit it is to lower the population growth, and of course it’s easier to blame Catholics than admit that corruption stops a lot of companies from investing here.

Ann Rice claimed to have been converted to Christianity. It is becoming more clear that she was only pretending in an attempt to tap into the market for Christian fiction. Apparently, that didn’t pan out well for her, so she’s trying a different method of getting attention before the release of her next book.

What better place for a homosexual to go than the CC ? the priests don,t get married so it looks like a pretty good home for them, right up their alley.

Although the Bible talks a lot about priests, the new testament does not even make any connections as far as priests in the christian church, but only Apostles, bishops, and deacons, and the elders are what they are.

If the church would stop all of the phoney hog wash it would stop most of the abuse that is being talked about.

But most of the blame is the people, if they are not interested enough in the truth to read the Bible then they should not complain about the church.

People puts more faith in the church, than they do in Christ
and it is not just the Catholic church, i am not saying there are not any good churches, but all any one has to do is just read the gospels and acts and they should be able to see through all of this religious nonsense.

Can,t people be brave enough to be Christians and do what Jesus ask them to do, such as do unto others as you would have them do unto you?

Why do they want to hide behind a church if they are so innocent?

How would any one feel if they were the object of waging mouths saying lynch him, lynch him? How many would be a part of a lynch mob if it were them that were to be lynched?

What is happening today is not about the offenders in the thread, many of them has no mind for Christ, they are just interested in the paid position they are in with life time benefits.

This is about people who are Christians like you and me, people who really believe that Jesus died for our sins,
So what are we going to do? rage like the heathen do?

Psalm 2

1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

Let us do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
