Mormon/LDS Youth iPhone App & Expanded Website

Mormon youth, 12-18-year olds, are at least as mobile as any Milennial, and as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they now have access to a new iPhone app, LDS Youth, that allows them to view video messages from peers worldwide, access stories, thoughts, articles, and inspirational messages through their portable devices. With each amenity, is the share-feature, enabling youth to spread encouragement by phone among their peers and families.

This app comes in conjunction with a newly updated LDS/Mormon website, Youth.lds.org (“Mormon” is a nickname for members of the Savior’s restored Church named in full above, that comes from a prophet by that name who lived anciently on this continent, abridging scriptures we are now privileged to have in our hands today).

Friends and youth of all faiths are welcome to visit the site, which contains statements of values, information regarding seminary instruction for youth (the objective of seminary, as mentioned on the site, is to help youth understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven. All youth in the world can benefit from similar instruction. Please ask about this if you are interested and of another faith), pamphlets that guide youth in their daily interactions (dating, media consumption, friendships, commitments, etc.), and more.

There are venues for downloading free music, sharing faith witnesses through video or listening to others from around the world, places to ask an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ questions, and to learn doctrine, memorize scriptures and otherwise fortify oneself to walk in the world but not be of it.

We encourage all Mormon youth and friends of all faiths with youth 12-18 to visit the resources on this site and feel the Spirit of materials generated to address the specific needs of this growing generation whom we love and whom the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, the 12 apostles who lead with him, and other leaders and parents also love greatly.

I specifically did not say what you are trying to attribute to me. And that is quite typical of your usual hysteria, Kevin.

Does it give a warm fuzzy feeling to read that the resident militant atheist praises you for defending blasphemies?

My faith in God is strong where I don’t go around declaring everything that is blasphemous like a jackass..

No, just dumb as one to ignore them.

Actually, LDS runs around saying your faith is wrong. Otherwise, why would there be any need for the “restored church”.

I can cite direct references if you like.

Them calling themselves christians is only recent and by that I mean in their 170 year history they have always railed against all of Christendom calling them “Apostates and Whores of Babylon”.

Sure, you won’t hear them say that but it is a historical and provable fact. Not by innuendo or inference but by their direct words and writings.

It is only in the last 10 or so years they have begun to call themselves christian.

The phraseology is key though: “We are christian” and “I am christian” or “We are the one true and christian”.

Note the phraseology objectified.

It is not possessive nor in any way inclusive as in “We are Christians too” or “We are Christians just like you”

I can provide specific examples that are unrefuttable.

Doesn’t make them bad people, doesn’t make us bad people. We are just people and in the end their is a difference between our two doctrines.

The difference in doctrine is acknowledge by them at any time and they can tell you the difference any time, if they are open, honest and their faith is strong enough.

Otherwise they will deny, most of the time evade(why would you do that if don’t have something hide?) or engage in their all time favorite “you are antimormon”.

Which is a laugh. I am not more anti Mormon than I am anti Jewish, anti Catholic or even anti Presbyterian. The latter of which they have some special affection for disdain, though no one, including them is really sure why.

There is only religion I am against and that is of the Moslems. Until they go through a reformation and start standing up to the crazies in their religion.

As for Mormons, they have created an alternative religion with roots in Christianity but they are most definitely not the same.

They do not believe in the Trinity.

They do not believe women have parity on earth and even less in heaven.

They believe that God was once man.

As God once was so can man be. In other words they believe they can become Gods.

That’s the basics.

We don’t deny anyone their right to worship. In fact, I encourage them to continue.

But, to an informed or well read Christian, we are not going to just sit idly by and let them co-opt Christianity when they have never had anything good to say about.

Literally.

They have 50,000 missionaries around the world telling all of Christianity how they got it wrong.

We are a small part of The Body of Christ setting the record straight.

Surely if we were incorrect or wholesale wrong there would be some sort of rebuttal specific to anything we might say but, there never is.

There can’t be.

So do the rest of us.

We also expect the same in return.

I guess your faith doesn't include the Bible then Kevin.

It is clear in the areas of defending the faith, dealing with false teachers and saving the lost...

Something that is required in our Constitutionally protected practice of OUR Faith as free men...

Rights for thee but not for me?

I think not...

Your continued arguments about the Constitution cuts both ways.

When you have proof of one of us hog tying a Mormon and keeping them from Temple then you'll have a point.

Kevin, God sends no one to hell, you go there of your own free will.

So your faith in God is strong, but you are unwilling to defend it against those who blaspheme it.
So your faith in God is strong, but you are unwilling to defend that strength against those that mock God.
So your faith in God is strong, but you are unwilling to let others defend it.
So your faith in God is strong, but anyone who disagrees with you is a jack ass.
Hum? In reality it appears not to be that strong.
God tells us to expose false prophets IE Joseph Smith et al.
God tells us to judge everything against His Word.
God tells us to be strong in Him and do these things,
Sorta puts your “my faith in God is strong” argument, well apparently lacking.

Apparently anyone could fall into that category - all who love God more than you is “holier than thou”.

“Holier-than-thou” is an attitude more than anything...people that think they are better than you just because they happen to believe a certain brand of religion and you don’t...as universalism grows, more and more people tend to dismiss the “ours is the only way” believers... it bothers them it seems...magritte

...whose contribution to a debate is to pop in regularly and insinuate that THEY are "better than you" by offering nothing but snarky remarks and slurs against anyone who truthfully exposes mormonism's lies...."superior attitude" much?

There’s no “debate” on anti-Mormon threads...just a bunch of holier-than-thou posters deriding another persons religion and patting each other on the back about how great they are...it’s amusing at times, but doesn’t forward the conservative movement one iota...magritte

Hey EJ...I’m a believer in the G-d of the Jews, not the god of the Christians...I was using universalism as the generic belief that there are many roads to G-d, not just the belief among a shrinking group of Christians that a belief in Jesus is the only way...magritte
