But what a great example of Roman Catholics not being able to say "hey, I made a mistake."

Not being willing to admit human foibles like that makes one wonder how they can honestly go to confession to confess sins. If they don't admit that sin is sin, as in the abusive priest issue, but are in denial about it, well, you can't ask for forgiveness about what you won't admit you did that was wrong.

“Mistakes were made” is hardly the same as “forgive me father for I have sinned.” Although both are about as useless in the end. It’s just all so ridiculous. And pitiful.
