The United States is over 50% Protestant. Twenty-six percent of the country is Evangelical Protestant while 24% is Roman Catholic.

Them’s the numbers. Read ‘em and whine.

You said you "lurked" long enough to make the statement that whenever someone was booted off a thread you determined that person was a Roman Catholic.

It happened to me. So what's your guess WPaCon - was is because I am a former catholic so 'once a catholic always a catholic' was in play so I got the boot? Do you remember it? I hadn't given it much thought till now; other than I disobeyed the rules. Do you have an out for me? You want to do a little whining on my behalf?

Oddly enough, even though he married, he didn't consummate the marriage. No matter, at least he was married. Hmm, so was James VI of Scotland, who became James I of England, and was a public catamite (even though he actually did father children) and wrote the KJV. So the ones who disapprove of homosexuality with adults and children lionize somebody that did it publically and believe that his political Bible is the best English Bible that ever existed.

Come now Mark, there is no evidence that James I wrote even one word of the KJV. It was written by 47-54 scholars unlike the Latin Vulgate which was written by Jerome.

LOLOL. Maybe you didn’t wash off the forehead smudge completely.

Imagine, someone who says they disobeyed the rules and were rightly chastised for it.

No wonder you’re no longer RC. 8~)

Spectacular post!

Also not factual. But what does that matter so long as the graphics were interesting?

It has been common practice for bishops and superiors of religious orders in the United States to use chaplaincies in the armed forces as a convenient place to send priests who have molested children.

As a result, servicemen have been sexually assaulted, the children of soldiers have been abused, and children visiting a parent or relative at a VA hospital have been endangered.

Interesting.

And recent days we have seen the disdain that many FRoman Catholics have for our military.

Coincidence?

"They're all still here."

Buccaneer81 is not.

I was speaking of being zotted. I doubt b81 is gone forever.

But your statement only adds to the confusion since it implies you've been lurking long enough to not only see names disappear but also to reappear again.

1) Catholics: 57,199,000

2) Baptists (does not make distinction for Southern Baptist etc.) : 36,148,000

OPC: Not even mentioned.

Them’s the numbers. Read ‘em and whine.

Well, I wasn't, and I was the one who brought up the topic.

Just wondering if you're a priest...

Nope. I went into the seminary in ninth grade. In those days most of the lasses I knew up close and personal were shaped like pencils. By twelfth grade that had all changed, and pheromones filled the air. It was pretty clear to me that celibacy wasn't in the cards.

You're 10-15 years younger than I would have thought you were. In my day (I'm 79) many familys sent at least one son to Jr. Seminary because the 12-13 year old had a "calling". These poor prepubescent boys had no real choice in the matter. I strongly believe it is from among the "graduates" of this barbaric system that many of the abusers were "manufactured".

Yes, I know. And the fact that you are so familiar with names who are suspended and then return is interesting. That transition takes time. And you say you were present for that expanse of time not only to see those transitions but to draw conclusions from those transitions.

When have I mentioned people being suspended?

I was only talking about people being told to leave threads.

You’re the only person who has mentioned Baptists. More deflection.

The facts are that this country is over 50% Protestant.

26% of the U.S. is Evangelical Protestant.

24% of the U.S. is Roman Catholic.

Do you doubt those numbers?

“You’re the only person who has mentioned Baptists.”

Just giving a list of largest “denominations” in America.

The fact is that Catholicism is the largest “denomination” in America and in the world and to deny it is foolish.

The RCC loves Communism because it, too, is an authoritarian construct with a top-down hierarchy that dictates what people are to do, think and say.

Look at the socialist countries that are Roman Catholic — Italy, Spain, France, Mexico, Venezuela, all of South America...

And as countries like Germany and Switzerland become more Roman Catholic, they likewise become more socialistic.

The dirty little secret is that the Roman Catholic church despises the middle class. That was part of the reason for the Reformation - a strengthening of the merchant middle class.

The middle class threatens Rome. So much so that Gregory XVI hated the trains because he said they would empower the middle class (read Calvinists.)
