So this is where God’s gift of sight and reason comes to good use:
Mathew 7:16 - “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
So we’re on the hunt, looking for beliefs that lead to destruction...
Let’s evaluate these places with our eyes to see if we can discern the fruit those ideologies bear:
1. Chitiniza, Mexico
—I see ruins of a long ago destroyed people.
—Conclusion, religion involving human sacrifice isn’t going to have a good outcome.
2. Detroit, Michigan
—I see ruins of industry.
—Conclusion, liberalism & unionism isn’t good for industry.
3. North Korea (As viewed from space)
—I see a land in stark comparison to it’s neighbors.
—Conclusion, Communism / Atheism develops only starvation & poverty. Godless, central planning for the good of all doesn’t work.
4. Baghdad - Iraq, Grozny - Chechnya, Islamabad - Pakistan...
—I see poverty, death & decay all around.
—Religious extremism, especially religions based on a murderer & bandit prophet, don’t lead to a peaceful prosperous people.
Now lets apply this test to Mormons:
5. Salt Lake City, Utah
—I see larger families, stable jobs, low crime and few homeless compared to most cities in the world of comparable size.
—Conclusion? If these people are careening towards destruction, the cracks are either non-existent or not apparent.
Who gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes.
First of all, the “destruction” rick is talking about is spiritual destruction.
Second, your premise is faulty. Your own personal observations don’t hold any weight when compared to the facts.
I’m not going to do the work for you, but all is not well in Zion. Utah is falling in many health and socio-economic related categories. They’re only marginally better than the national average mainly because of the church welfare system that takes on many of the cases that would otherwise go to the taxpayers and thus become part of the statistical averages.
Then there is this little nugget;

Done with the direct help, lobbying, involvement and “encouragement” of the mormon church “leadership”.
They’ve made their position known quite clearly; One thing is clear: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has abandoned its claims to neutrality on these bills.

They’ve just accelerated their demise, all in the name of “religion”. The mormon church hierarchy has sold out the people of Utah.
It’s quite easy to scratch the surface of any state and see the problems, if one is only willing.
Utah is not exempt and is not the shining pillar it once may have been.
