One thing that doesn’t fit.
Allegedly Jesus is telling her about all these people who fell into sin and ended up in hell after becoming Christians, and He tells her that He’s going to save her mother and she’ll die right away because otherwise she’ll fall back into sin and end up in hell.
Well, if He’s going to do that for her mother, why wouldn’t He do it for everyone else as well?
That makes no sense.
There are those who will fall away from the true faith. So I have no problem with the concept of people losing their salvation. As I posted before, and example would be the church of Ephesus.
Revelation 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. The issue I have is that its pretty much works based rather then the total and complete faith in Jesus perfect sacrifice that paid the price completely. I can see where Catholics would accept this whole heartedly.
imho, to say that
THAT
makes no sense
is to PRESUME to have Christ’s omniscient perspective on all that.
I don’t have time to get into all this tonight . . . by and by.
