Fruit of the Spirit, humble and contrite heart, among others.

But I can't see into your heart. How would these things be manifest to others?

I don’t see good works as a “necessary” component in salvation either...but I think they are an important evidence of salvation - not always possible though (i.e. thief on the cross, deathbed conversions).

Under normal circumstances every believer will manifest good works.

Personally, when I think of consecration, sanctification, being set apart, dying to self, I think these things affect more of what is between God and me. Sanctification is the process of me allowing God to cut away that which is in my soul that takes me away from Him, and being conformed into His image. When I become more like Christ, more conformed into His image, then I will produce fruit of that - good works. But also what will be manifest are the fruit of the Spirit, which demonstrates that an inward work has begun. A process that never ends hopefully.

Also I’ve known baby Christians that out their zeal of salvation, not actually out of sanctification per se, have manifested good works.
