Once the Catholic church came into existence, it labeled anyone and everyone who objected to their power grab as heretics and booted them out.
The true church is and always has been composed of those who are true believers in Christ alone by faith for their salvation.
Catholic does not by default mean Christian.
Christian does not by default mean Catholic.
