If my daughter became a Mormon and married in the Temple, I wouldn’t want to go. Nothing against it but I don’t want to go where I’m not welcome.
Plus drinking in the parking lot of the temple is probably frowned upon.

Oh, they could make you "welcome". Just convert, follow all the rules, pay, and after a year, you get your interview and voila! You're in. JK!
The reception can be held wherever you want, they don't allow anyone to "celebrate" on the temple grounds.
Hold the reception at your local K of C, Moose, Elks Lodge, etc.
