Jesus Christ, the only man that has the power to even know who is his own said the following:
Matthew 10:
[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
[35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
[36] And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
Division is required for purity, and it is the Lord himself that seeks to divide. (light from darkness, truth from the lie)

Jesus divides the saved from the unsaved. He prayed the Church be One in John 17 and Paul admonished the Church to be One in 1 Corinthians 1, and we are!!
