Perhaps you attend one of these abusive/legalistic/authoritative churches. Or perhaps you do not understand human nature and the effect residual, indwelling sin can have on even a regenerate person. Watch out when the reporters show up.
Lots of accusations against Protestants on the child molesting issue, but precious little in the way of evidence to back it up.
OTOH, there’s article after article in papers across the world documenting the abuse in the Catholic church and the cover ups surrounding it.
And plenty have been posted.
