One other thing I’ve learned about Catholics after living and working with them, is that nobody can tell them anything.
Emphysema is a slow, horrible way to die. My kids, watching their grandfather slowly suffocate to death, vowed to never smoke.
If you want to count on its running in families as protection against it, by all means, nobody is stopping you.

I saw a 79 year old female who smoked two to two and one-half packs of king size cigarettes daily. No COPD. None present. This was a lifelong smoker. She was also parolled after decades in prison so her nutrition, exercise, and whatever other factors contribute to good health were missing.
Go figure! ( -;

Amazing. I can't think of another value orientation as rabidly intense about such actions. I don't even think Scientology or JW's or LDS can hold a candle to the RC's on FR on such scores . . . nor even Muslims--only about 70% of them are that rabidly closed minded, arrogant, !!!!DEMANDING!!!! haughty etc.
