So how can one human say that another human’s confession is NOT true?

Good question. I really is. I used to wonder about that myself, but the more time I spent around true believers, the more I saw that a true confession cannot be faked. The words change, the behavior changes, God shines through them.

I have known people who claimed to be Christians, I was once one myself, without really being born again (a true confession of faith). They say the words but don’t mean them. This is where spiritual discernment comes in.

Sometimes we do not know. However, in order to have a true cofession of faith, to really be born again, you must know the TRUE Christ. When i deal with the LDS (I used to be LDS), I know that their belief rests on a false Christ, one made up by Joseph Smith.

Christ changed me when I truly believed in Him, when I put my faith in Him, when I called Him “LORD” and meant it. It wasn’t just something I saw, but something others saw in me (and commented). When my best friend got saved a few years ago, she didn’t notice any change, but I saw it right off.

Only God knows our hearts, but true Christian faith can’t be truly faked. Other believers know.

Well, thanks for making the attempt to explain... but that sounds like the EST-like motivational guru in the movie, “Semi-Tough” ... i.e. the guy who kept saying, “You’ll know you got it when you get it.”

It sounds like you are saying, “You’ll know you are saved when you become one of us. And until you are a ‘true Christian’ (i.e. one of us)...you can’t know.”

So... how is your definition of faith different from Mormons on this thread who have said basically the same thing?
