It was moved due to the heretical assertion in the title, being similar to a scientology calim or any other non-Christian assertion for self-promotion. As Jim put it, making such a claim as Joe Smith being an Apostle of Jesus Christ is earth shaking news ... and since it is an absurd assertion, it deserves the ridicule it is now receiving in the open forum.

What has happen is that some have wondered what is all this fuss about reading all the horrible PR by the antis and have gone to the source and that by the power of the spirit of the Lord witness to them that is how it happens!

Restornu,
That is what is commonly called delusion.

Mormonism teaches that the Mormonism jesus was not god with us until his resurrection, thus his exaltation to godhood was gained, not a fundamental aspect of His person.

***

That’s not true Jesus was always God.

Isa 43 Jehovah was the only God formed

10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Why are you spreading this distortion to the point of falsehood?

Jesus receives his glory that the Father gave His only begotten Son.

Acts 7:
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

John 11:

4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby

Acts 7:
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

Rom. 15:
17 I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.

Rom. 16:
27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

2 Cor. 4:
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

I am sure like all the rest you have something to say like you got the meaning wrong or ignore this.

Jeff,
If you are a born again Christian, why do you hang out with the Mormons? I like you. I wish to call you my brother. The Mormon theology is different from the orthodox Christian theology. Mormon prophecies have not come true. If you truly have been born again, you will not associate with a religion that is off.

Just sayin’.

God the Father had a Father who had a Father and so on.

Please show me where that is in LDS Scriptures?

___

That doctrine denies the Name of God: I AM, Creator, Alpha, Omega, He IS (YHwH), God Almighty (El Shaddai) and so on because under that doctrine, He is merely “a” God,

not “the” God.

Where is that in LDS Scripture please?

Jesus aka Jehovah has always been known as I AM.

Thank you anyways for letting me know that you think we believe!

It’s difficult to parse through your Mormon bible translation.

You do understand, for example, that Jehovah and other various names of God are depictions or expressions of different aspects of His deity?

You do understand, also, that for Jesus to be able to mitigate or bear the punishment for our sins, He had to be fully human as well as fully God?

So let’s start with those issues, Restornu, then we can move on to the funny peculiarity of how Mormons believe a “feeling” or “supernatural experience” or an “emotion” is the witness of the Holy Spirit of God.

Not.

Isa 43 Jehovah was the only God formed

Gollies this is not in Isaiah 43 in the Christian Bible...

Not in the KJV anyway...

In fact I doubt if you will find this in any book of any version of the Christian Bible...

Of course, but just because Jim or anyone else doesn't consider us Christians, denying self professing Christians a Caucus forum while allowing all others seems out of harmony with the spirit of the Forum.

I still think if it's a choice between getting rid of LDS Caucus threads and allowing and promoting anti Mormon threads, then do away with all Caucus threads completely.

This is Jim's forum and I never offer him advice on how to run it.

That said, I don't think it is true that all self-described Christians have caucus threads here. For example I have never seen caucus threads for Christian Scientists, nor for Jehova's Witnesses.

I understand and expect Mormons to promote Mormonism and I see your call to eliminate all caucuses in the event that Mormon Caucus threads are disallowed as an example of that. However I don't see any reason why the "spirit of the Forum" would require this.

Romney is just as phony as Smith is.

Hey that was a great ending to your post! Yes, proselytizing is correct. That is what they do and that is what Momonism is. Their focus on coverting is to fill the ranks of those who are departing. (Rather like in the retail industry. Move'em in move'em out.) But not until they have a good grasp of your tithing capability. The idea is to keep the cash flow rolling in order to continue to fund their many projects and maintain their "Corporate Image" on the International Stage, which welds it's own form of power...after all it is a Corporation far more than today then it's ever been a religion.

I’d prefer it if all mormon discussion were just turned OFF. It comes to no good. It has nothing to do with the conservative principles of this site, and every mormon thread I’ve ever seen, without exception, has been a bitter, offensive, caustic, mean-spirited dogpile/bash-fest. I cringe whenever I see an LDS thread anymore. I think of the “Oh geez, not this sh!t again” guy.

Well-said. Joseph Smith concocted numerous fairy tales, not one of which has validation in archeology, history, DNA evidence, etc. There is not a single Greek, Aramaic or Hebrew document that supports the BoM except for the texts ripped off from a mid-1800’s KJV Bible (or thereabouts).

***

That is not accurate there is in some passages of the bible that Joseph Smith translated was different from the KJV but was accurate to another Bible if you are patience I will find it for you!

It will take me time to find it for it as a few years back

in the mean time maybe another member will remember!

I found it
