Yes it indeed shows her ignorance of Mormonism. Yet here she is defending it, and judging Christians with the knowledge of Mormonism, as if her life depended on it.

I have no problem with the beliefs of others as long as they don’t try and shove it down my throat.I may not believe in Mormonism, Catholicism or any other so called religion or cult but I certainly wouldn’t belittle those who do believe. And all religions are cults no matter how you paint them. All based on certain scripture and tradition. And all of them require faith of some sort. I have no problem with any missionary knocking on my door telling me of their beliefs as long as they respect mine but once they try and tell me I am wrong it’s adios, see ya, don’t let the door hit ya where your good lord split ya.

You are right...

I do not know....You all as former LDS members are the best witnesses to carry on about this issue, my hope it is done with care and compassion to our Mormon freepers..

So I will bow out, and continue on my quest of posting threads of all the dying birds happening all over the planet....

Oh my heck, what are you, six? That's still 2 years older than you apparently. :-)

Actually you couldn't be more correct. I became born again, a new creation in Christ, the night of October 23rd, 1995.

Wait, a professing Mormon cussed out someone in Freepmail? Isn’t that against their commandments?

Considering the number of times a Mormon has done it to me, I can only assume that it doesn't count if the LDSer replaces the majority of letters with other characters (asterisks, etc).

Here’s an example on another thread of what I’m talking about.

Not that you fall into the category by your own admission, but it’s an example nonetheless.

I repeat:

To: Invincibly Ignorant
How sad and—if it were possible—embarrassing for you that you glory in collecting such a thing (the freepmail from a Christian in which you are defined with --as Spock put it in The Journey Home-- 'colorful metaphors') as a trophy of your agenda on FR threads. Perhaps you have forgotten that Christians aren’t perfect, they’re just forgiven for not being perfect ... yet. It is God’s open secret that He is gradually conforming Christians into the image of His Son ... in other words, we Christians are a work in progress. You could be too! He stands outside your door, knocking, and as ‘The Hound of Heaven’ He is very persistent.

And yes, it worked for you. Aren’t you glad it did?

Freedom and salvation in Christ is so much better than anything Mormonism offers.

I never have (and of course never will) get an answer to my simple question: what "vital truth" is the bible missing that I need in order to spend eternity with Jesus?

Maybe you two could give me a glimpse into the committed Mormon mind when asked such a simple thing.

Exactly. I wonder why that is?

Tara what is your stake in defending something you haven’t studied over those who have not only studied it but lived it?

Honest question.

Was I wrong was not John Lee the rogue Mormon
_______________________________________________________

No John Lee was not a “rogue” mormon...

Thats like saying the Moslems of 9/11 were just radical or rogue Moslems...

John Lee was a normal “good” obedient mormon in high and trusted leadership under orders from Brigham Young his adoptive father “to use up the Gentiles” “Blood atonement”

Brigham Young sent his mormons, his Danite thugs to murder those innocent people,,,men, women, children and babes in arms...

The mormons stole everything, even the bloody clothes off the naked bodies of their victims...

Brifhan Youn g later drove around in a fancy carfriage that was stolen from the wagon train...

and the mormons stole 17 young children, kiddenapped them and refuserd to give them back...

The US army had to go in 2 years later to rescue them from the mormons...

the children were half starved and sick and neglected and abused but the criminal Brigham young demanded $10,000 (1859 money) in ransom to get them back...

The bottom line with the business of mormonism has always been money...

The Temple covenants, tokens and signs are missing from the Bible.

Of course that is because in Christianity there certainly are no temple covenants, tokens and signs.

-0 - - - - - -
Depends on which of the three definitions of ‘cult’ you use.

Anthropologically all religions are cults (cultus) - a religious system

However, Sociologically and Theologically - cults have a much narrower definition. A High demand (controlling) group and a group that is outside traditional teachings of the religion.

Mormonism fits all three definitions. Most Christian groups only fit the anthropological definition.

- - - - -
Puting on my ‘mormon hat’, I wouldn’t say the bible is missing anything to spend eternity with JESUS (terrestrial kingdom), BUT to spend it with Heavenly Father and to be exalted, the Bible is missing Temple ordinances, plurality of Gods, Godhood, eternal marriage, endowments, and the ‘one true church’.
