They have not been answered plenty of times. For that matter, I don’t recall anyone asking before “If the church was doing such a spectacular job catechizing its adherents, why do so many Catholics vote liberal? Why is there so much erroneous teaching out there?
And why do Catholics on FR call for an Inquisition to clear the church out of heresy?”
Nor has anyone explained why when someone who is considered a non-Catholic says that the church does a poor job of catechizing its adherents, all of a sudden, its *baloney*? And yet Catholics admit that it happens is OK?
Why is that?
As far as I am concerned, I don’t believe anything that a non-Catholic anti-Catholic says, just on the face of it. Would you take Achmadinejad’s word for anything? That’s the same thing, to me.
You (plural) have no credibility with me. So many times, any statement by a Catholic is jumped on, like a duck on a june bug, by six or seven (unspecified sect) protestants and the Catholic word is not taken.
And frankly, when I was catechized into the Church, there was NO MENTION OF MARY. My sponsor taught me church doctrine and she did a fine job. She also said, “The Blessed Virgin is our spiritual mother, and we love her, we do not worship her.” So, my experience as a convert is in direct opposition to your (plural) statements, many of which (see Quix) are so hateful as to disgust even the “reformers.”
That’s why.
And didn’t you yourself ask annalex why there are Catholics calling for an Inquisition? You gave yourself the answer there, “to clear the church out of heresy” yet you (plural) have reproached annalex more than once about his inquisition statements.
Annalex is about a week behind, posting, due to his circumstances. So you may have to wait for a personal answer, if you demand one.
I’m not calling for an inquisition, but I wouldn’t mind.
Mostly because the liberals are the only ones running who express concern for the weak, the poor, the disabled, etc. Granted, they're lying, and granted further that these Catholics don't know any economics, but neither do the bishops. And the Republicans don't seem inclined to explain (or to do much about abortion either, possibly because their big contributors are either pro-abortion or don't care about it).
