If the church was doing such a spectacular job catechizing its adherents, why do so many Catholics vote liberal? Why is there so much erroneous teaching out there?

And why do Catholics on FR call for an Inquisition to clear the church out of heresy?

Many of the Catholics on FR alone recognize the problems with poorly catechized Catholics and admit it to the point of wishing for an inquisition. Yet when someone who is considered a non-Catholic says that the church does a poor job of catechizing its adherents, all of a sudden, its *baloney*?

The general reaction seems to be based more on who says it that what is said. It a Catholic points out flaws or error in the RCC and calls for an inquisition to clean it out, it’s accepted.

If a non-Catholic only points out flaws or error in the RCC, he’s shredded and told that he’s wrong about what the Catholic church *really* teaches.

It’s just like the whole quoting Luther thing. He’s right when he supports the Catholic church and when he doesn’t he’s a heretic burning in hell.

You guys need to make up your collective minds about this stuff before shooting off your mouths and constantly contradicting each other.
