I know that many people say Moses and Elijah, but I agree with the thought that it’s Enoch and Elijah.

For two reasons...

One is because neither one of them died as man is appointed to do.

The other is that if you do a search for Enoch, you find he’s mentioned in Jude that he prophesied about the end times, the second coming.

Since Elijah was the forerunner of Jesus, that’s a no brainer. But since Enoch didn’t die and he also foretold about the second coming, that’s why I think it’s those two.

Moses came to deliver God’s people from Egypt and he’s connected with the giving of the Law, not the second coming of Christ.

Jude 1:14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” 16These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage.

Thank you. This was my hangup.he’s connected with the giving of the Law,

That's reason it didn't seem right. But at the time whatever was said, did give me reason to think more on it.

Can you imagine Elijah and Enoch being in heaven all these years and having to return to earth at the worst time. WOW! Glad that destiny wasn't assigned to me. ;)

Your reasoning makes absolute sense. Moses was connected to the giving of the Law. And Enoch spoke of the end times. It makes perfect sense. Thanks!

“I know that many people say Moses and Elijah, but I agree with the thought that it’s Enoch and Elijah.”

That certainly is something believers can disagree on. In contrast,
the imaginative deceiver Joseph Smith, who read the Greek rendering Elias in the KJV, reported that he and Rigdon received priesthood keys from three angelic messengers: Moses, Elijah and Elias (see DC 110:1-16) Besides being visited by more Biblical notables than even Swedenborg i think (God, the Father.
Jesus Christ, John the Baptist, Peter, James & John, Moses, and maybe Adam & Noah)

Which, like many other fantasies, is a result of a mortal men presuming to be assuredly infallible and the supreme doctrinal authority, versus the established Scriptures. Which were established as Divine due to their enduring qualities and accompanying supernatural Divine attestation.
