I never said that the arrogant bozos declared salvation of their own doing. I said that they are arrogant in deciding that they were saved.

No, we believe God when He says that we are saved for believing in Him. Since when is taking God at His word *arrogant*?

You the individual are not Judged for salvation before you stand before Christ. If you declare that salvation now, then you are attempting to usurp Christ's role in Judgement and taking it upon yourself.

Nope.

You have no evidence that you are saved.

Sure. The fruit of a life of one trusting Christ.

1 John 2:1-6 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

The good works in which we walk, the love for the saints, the love of the Word, grief over sin, there are lots of indicators of ones relationship with Christ being genuine and current.

Why does it anger Catholics so much that someone has enough confidence in the promises of God that he can be sure of his standing before God.

When one confesses his sin to God and receives forgiveness, one is clothed in the righteousness of Christ. God sees the purity Christ in us (having been forgiven of the sin that defiles us), not our filthy works any more.

Since you at your word do not believe in the God of Christiantiy, indeed you have left that belief, why should I believe that you are saved?

No anger. Just rejection that one can Judge one's self. That is unScriptural and unChristian. Those who believe it are not acting in a Christian manner.

And when one sins again, all those sins remove one's self from God again. Your sinful works separate yourself from God. No salvation until further repentence for those very sinful works.
