The hardest penalty the Holy Inquisition could impose is excommunication, and the only people it could impose it on were Catholics. However, the Church always respected the civil law of the land, which indeed treated apostasy harshly. lol. Those are the same kind of lies Russia used to tell its citizens. (I'm pinging a few Christians to witness the creepy, unholy fiction being pushed by Rome these days.)
Thankfully, the lies Rome concocts are transparent...and not unexpected.
