God does not want blind submission to His will

Let's put this straight. FAITH is pleasing to God. Is that what you call FAITH - blind submission ?

He wants our love, freely given.

DUH! That is what loves is - freely given. Do you know of another? If you have to force someone to love you, it's not love - it's control. That's the RCC's dept

Had God wanted unquestioned subservience He would have created us without free will.

WOW! That takes one out of the picture - they don't have to serve Him since they aren't a robot. That's what separates the chaff from the wheat. Those who serve Him because they think 'they should or score brownie points' VS those who chose to honor/serve Him simply because of 'WHO HE IS' - The Great I AM.

Obedience does not mean sniveling cowering out of fear.

Where did you get that from? Sounds like catechism speak. Excommunication, mortal sin, purgatory.

And what does all your rant and fear have to do with

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS

BTW - Thanks for reminding me why I have come to hate the religion forum.

What did I remind you of and your hate of RF? Reading the TRUTH on this forum and that it's the opposite of RCC's man made teachings/doctrines? And it's better not to hear The Truth and be reminded that you are being misled by the RCC?

Nontheless, your little trip here today was worthwhile - you learned
IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS

and not the pope, the church, dead saints, eucharist, rosary, novena, Mary, relics, incense, indulgences, sacraments, man made teachings/doctrines/catechism, PhD's, church fathers, your own understanding, cathedrals, kissy gold glitter vestments, mortal/venial sin.

It is. It's how the RCC keeps it's adherents in line, through fear. The whole thing is built on fear.

Fear of sinning before communion.

Fear of sinning before your next confession.

Fear of not being good enough.

Fear of your works not making the grade.

Fear of being condemned by an angry, vengeful God whom only Mary can appease, and going to hell, directly to hell. Do not pass purgatory.....

Romans 8:15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"

2 Timothy 1:7...for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

The Reformation reconnected people with the understanding of the love of the God of the Bible, the one who died for them to forgive ALL their sins so they didn't have to live under a cloud of constant condemnation and fear of eternal hellfire.

The Catholic god shows no mercy. All remission of sins has to be earned. That's not mercy, that's subjection.
