And he called His name Jesus. " Joseph "knew" his wife. So much for the virginity. Nor does it say *her ONLY son*. It specifically says *firstborn*.

It specifically says *firstborn*. Because firstborn has a legal significance in Hebrew law: it means he is dedicated to God. Being only son is of no such significance.
