Well it is relevant as the revelation that he was called before he was born, by the grace of God, to be the apostle to the Gentiles was given to him by the HS. Your original statement was that you were wondering if he just took the title, Apostle to the Gentiles, because he wanted it, is thus proved incorrect. Paul says his Apostleship, his call, and the church, were all part of the Plan of Salvation. He didn’t just make it up.

Again it is Paul who says this...I want scripture where Jesus calls him apostle...God sent him, true, but when Jesus talked to him on the road to Damascus, he was not called to be an apostle by Jesus.

In cp. 9 vs:15-16 (Acts) Jesus calls Paul who was not even baptized when he was knocked off his horse "an instrument of mine to carry my name before the gentiles"

Thanks to all that answered but I give you Gods word as to what Paul was. It was not an apostle, but an instrument. Paul was Gods instrument not an apostle, right out of Jesus mouth to Ananias...

If anyone can find that false, please let me know..
