In Christ Alone lyrics

Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save

?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

I believe that the Reformation was a reversal for many on the road to Christ and a return to pagan bloodlust. A rejection of the Christ of the Gospels and an embracing of Odin, Jupiter, or Zeus. With a mixture of Mayan and Aztec practices, I'd think.

You know, I have read some idiodic posts on the RF on various opinions of the "Reformed" theology from an "Orthodox" perspective before, and I have to admit that this takes first prize. Congrats!

Don't be too hard on Mark. It is obvious he was using the Beta 1 version of RAWG. RANDOM WORD GENERATOR.

What a world he created...

Actually, no, it's the world human beings who reject God and his perfect will make.

> “Maybe according to Bishop Editor-Surveyor, but he’s outside the Church that chose those written gospels, so his opinion really doesn’t matter.

.
Wrong again! (no surprise)

I am very much a part of the body of Christ. It is the catholics that by choice are not a part. They cherish the idolatry of Ishtar/Mary worship, Icon worship, Pagan seances in place of Passover Communion, and praying to mortal men rather than the Father, to whom Christ gave us access in his name.

> “It’s just ridiculous to think all Christ’s teachings are in the Gospels. If that were the case, why recruit 12 guys to help spread the instructions?”

.
Its really ridiculous to think otherwise. Perhaps you hadn’t noticed that one apostle, Paul, was responsible for 90% of that evangelism, and all of the specific written instructions for the daily management of the church. All that the church needs is in writing, and was within 35 years of the Lord’s ascent to the Father.

It was the evil traditions of men that gave birth to the ‘catholic’ church, centuries after Paul’s epistles were written, and brought about the death of the church in the fourth century, not to be revived until over a millenium later when the Holy Spirit called Martin Luther to the task of breathing life back into it.

I see it pretty much as THE dividing question and here on the rel. thread it becomes obvious that the “Bible is bunk” crowd has made their choice. No more pearls for them!

Sadly, I am going to have to agree that it is casting pearls when people have the gall to cast doubt upon the word of God and hold the teachings and traditions of fallible men above the revealed words from our Lord. I think I'll move along so I can avoid the plagues that may begin any moment.

There you go trying to be logical, again, with the crowd that believes in talking snakes and donkeys...

Yup, right up there with guys walking on water and rising from the dead.

By praying to Ishtar/Mary, and going to a seance at an ornate sepulcre where a pagan priest trys to hang our Lord back up on the cross every day...

Yep, that’s logic fur shurr!

That's funny coming from people who claim as their own church the church that claims to have written the Bible they write off.

I guess the Catholic church doesn't know what it's talking about then. The FRoman Catholics need to get in touch with the Vatican and straighten them out.

bb, you should know that the comments posted by Mark, although he is not Orthodox, outline pretty much the way 350,000,000 Orthodox Christians view Reformed theology and I don’t mean just the old grandmas in kerchiefs. I mean virtually all of us, including our theologians.

You know, that you folks would endow your god with the attributes of the “gods” my distant ancestors worshiped is an irony beyond compare. Once a friend, a convert to Orthodoxy, asked his godfather why we Greeks kept so many statues of the old “gods” around. The old man twisted his mustache and told him with a smile that we kept them around to remind us of what Christ had saved us from!

There it is, goml. The Holy Spirit went off for a 1200 year nap while Creation slipped further and further into sin that Dagon could hate more and more and get increasingly po’ed about (which in an ironic twist is really what it likes)and give it more souls to gleefully damn to everlasting hell fires! Oh Happy Dagon! Oh Happy Devotees of Its Cult!

Of course not; that’s in God’s word, and he has made it plain that he doesn’t believe a shred of the Word.

As much as talking snakes and donkeys...and people walking on water or being raised form the dead...have you ever seen a talking snake or a donkey or anyone raised from the dead, or do you maybe walk on water?

See, now I know I can't believe you about anything. None of this is true. Why would you make garbage up like this? Is there some sort of code in the bylaws of the 'Bahble Cultists' that the must lie about real Christians?

Why don't you just criticize the actual beliefs of the Church? Why do you have to make up lies? Mary worship is not part of our religion. We don't have pagan seances, we don't pray to mortal men, and we don't pray to icons. Each of those accusations is a complete lie? Doesn't your God of Hate have a problem with lying?

If you're not lying and you're just mind boggling ignorant, why don't you just ask a few members of the Church what they believe? There's a bunch of very well learned folks here from both lungs of the Church. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to clear up all these bizarre notions you have about the Church. Wouldn't it be neat to learn something? Just ask. I'm sure these nice guys will help you out. Do something... anything to educate yourself. If you're too embarrassed by the extreme level of your ignorance, maybe you might want to ask some questions via private messages. Get back to me with an apology, or don't respond at all. Your post is a joke.
