Fine lets not worry about shutting them down, how about just removing their tax exempt status? They don’t need it, they make billions every year in tithing. The US Gov’t unincorporated LDS, inc once before.

If I understand you correctly, you would support the idea of Church Czar Al Sharpton (appointed by Imam Obamadinejad) and his True Church Committee, (Harry Reid and Keith Ellison) proclaiming that LDS is a false church and should have its tax exempt status revoked on that basis?

And for the record, i support removing ALL churches from tax exempt status. the smaller churches operate at a loss anyway and it would put a crimp in the televangelists and corporate business churches like Mormonism and Scientology.

With this I have no argument, as long as it applies to ALL churches. It's apalling to me that anyone would believe himself to be a conservative and advocate that determining what's a "true" or "false" church is (or should be) a function of the federal government. I don't care if we're talking about Mormonism, Scientology, Catholicism or any other ology or ism. I got shivers just reading that.

I base my view that the LDS is a false church on the Bible, not my political beliefs.

I do not think it is the role of the government to determine the falsity or truth of religion, if it were we would all be made to be atheists.
