As a Roman Catholic are you saying that the LDS are fellow believers?
You would be out of step with the Pope himself on that. The Catholic Church sees the LDS as being outside the Body of the Christ.
As a far as defeat, as a Christian yourself you realize what “defeat” by those outside the Body of Christ means, it means damnation for the victim and failure for us.
I would think you would not like to be defeated in that situation either...

It isn’t sharing their faith, it is that they preach a false gospel and a false Christ. Not to mention that their missionaries deliberately LIE to potential converts about their history and doctrine.
