We are saved by faith and works, which are both the gift that comes with the grace. Not by faith alone.

How do you read the following ?

Isaiah 64:6
For all of us have become like one who is unclean,
And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us wither like a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Without the saving grace Christ made available to us on the altar of the Cross, all out works are indeed like filthy rags, as the consequence of the Fall which made us “unclean”.
