Greek Orthodox, the Vatican, Protestant churches, as diverse as we think they are, they do agree that Mormonism isn't Christian, but is a different religion of it's own.
And I'm sure you're aware that there are plenty of protestants who say exactly the same thing about the Catholics.
I think a lot of that sort of yelling has more to do with human pridefulness and tribal instincts than anything else. All it really does is cause people to hate each other in the name of "true" Christianity, which I'm pretty sure is not what Jesus wanted us to do. The Mormons claim to be Christians. Let God judge them.

Christians all have a shared interest in Mormonism whether you do or not.

I find that someone who claims "obsession" by others spends a lot of time "obsessing" about what others think and say about mormonism while branding others "devil-inspired".
Christianity itself was branded "devil-inspired" for over a hundred years by mormons and mormon leaders, yet today we see mormons attempting to usurp the very name of Christianity and substitute the demon-inspired rantings of Joseph Smith. They won't succeed.
