I see you are avoiding the lds leader issue - are you retracting that claim?
. . who appeared to Joseph Smith . . .
Norm, the definition is defined by smith - yes or no.
Secondly norm, which version of this account should we believe? There are nine authored by smith. In only two of the nine accounts is Jesus specifically identified. In the others an angel, angels, spirits or unidentified beings are reported by smith.
But lets look deeper. Show me where in the NT Jesus is described as being a product of heavenly father and one of his wives?
Please show me where in the NT where it states that Jesus is the brother of all spirits born in premortal kolob or whereever.
Please show me where in the NT Jesus has to attain His Godhood.
Honestly answer these and you will see that the mormon Jesus is not that described in the NT.
The ignorance is just amazing.
This is what started to draw me into the web until I woke up, thanks to a few here on FR. He sounded so believable but yet something gnawed at me and I couldn't quite but my finger on it. Then when I listened to Brannon Howse it all fell into place. Now I have to try and wake up the rest of the misguided crowd.
Or..is it disinformation and obfuscation?
(New tagline)
It’s clear what your opinion is, caww.
I don’t want to argue, but I do for the record want to state the position of my church here. My testimony is that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God.
Best to you,

To their credit, John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul warned us about this phenomenon when the Manhattan Declaration came out.
Greek Orthodox, the Vatican, Protestant churches, as diverse as we think they are, they do agree that Mormonism isn't Christian, but is a different religion of it's own.
And I'm sure you're aware that there are plenty of protestants who say exactly the same thing about the Catholics.
I think a lot of that sort of yelling has more to do with human pridefulness and tribal instincts than anything else. All it really does is cause people to hate each other in the name of "true" Christianity, which I'm pretty sure is not what Jesus wanted us to do. The Mormons claim to be Christians. Let God judge them.
I'm more interested to see your answer to my question, though.
It is the universality that makes this unique. “Mormonism is something that Christianity agrees on. Greek Orthodox, the Vatican, Protestant churches, as diverse as we think they are, they do agree that Mormonism isn’t Christian, but is a different religion of it’s own.”
Christians all have a shared interest in Mormonism whether you do or not.
And you are avoiding the question.
For information on why Christians are concerned about Beck becoming America’s religious leader see post 207.
A post that on the topic that you increasingly seem to be avoiding.
“And I’m sure you’re aware that there are plenty of protestants who say exactly the same thing about the Catholics”
Right here on this thread even. Even though they might believe the same thing, notice that no LDS Freeper posted that kind of garbage about the Catholic Church.

LDS do a lot of attacks against Evangelicals here at FR, isn't that the same thing?
Mormons also know that Catholics are a go to place for winning cult members, but the Catholic church itself is very clear that Mormonism is not Christian.
“LDS do a lot of attacks against Evangelicals here at FR, isn’t that the same thing?”
The same thing as what? Other sorts of Christians attacking Catholic Christains, on a thread about LDS?
“Mormons also know that Catholics are a go to place for winning cult members...”
There’s a lot of badly taught Catholics. Bishop’s fault.
“...but the Catholic church itself is very clear that Mormonism is not Christian.”
True. Some Christians aren’t as clear about the Catholic Church being Christian. As far as I can tell they pretty much agree with LDS about the Catholic Church, exept they post that garbarge to FR.

Did you read the article that this thread is about?
Did you read the posts about Catholics made to this thread?

Didn’t seem to bother Sarah Palin. She appeared proudly with Glenn Beck at the rally. Even had tears in her eyes.
I applaud her for it.
Read the article and try to get focused on the thread itself.
Interesting. Others on FR who actually attended said he did NOT do that. Apparently what he said is subject to interpretation.
Palin was there as a politician, not as a Christian Minister or priest.
