Whitefield died in 1770; hence, he's not considered among the "founders." Anyway, at times Beck has absolutely lauded people like Whitefield and some of the founding fathers who were indeed Christian. On that May 14 show, Beck closed the show by saying: "You know, America, it's time to start talking about religion and time to start talking about the truth about all of these guys and if Jesus is involved, Jesus is involved."

Joseph Smith hated Whitfield and I am sure Glenn knows that..that was just a way of weaving in the topic he is interested in religion, his religion

That is what the Washington Post and others on the left are claiming. Beck is out to push mormon restorationism. He wants a Mormon theocracy. He just addressed the WAPO screed on his show. I don't get it. Its clear to me the message is ripped straight from the DOI. Its a call to a restoration of the virtues of the Revolutionary era. Its not the promotion of any particular religion. What Beck is doing terrifies the left because it undermines a hundred years of the left pushing relativism, pushing post-modernism, pushing gramscian socialism, of the left mocking those who know there is a truth higher than the state.
