You shouldn't just read the Douay (or any other) Bible. You should read the Bible in the company of the Church with the mind of the ChurchUnfortunately there is no official, inspired magisterium commentary of the entire scriptures. Most of what one finds on the internet is simply one man's own personal interpretation of the scripture, not an official magisterium one .

By “the Church” is meant “the Catholic Church”, an institution that by it's own admission is suffused with Platonism, paganism and reliance on error, to put it gently.
As to the “mind of the (Catholic) Church”, what might that be? The teachings of the Catholic Church? The Pope seldom if ever makes his (ahem..) “infallible” statements, the actions of some perverted bishop?, Vatican II that is bitterly criticized? The Democrat or Republican or socialist priest? “...mind of the Church” indeed!!
