It is a waste of your time. I’ve read every verse with ‘faith’ in it, and saving faith is never referred to as a gift.

Ephesians 2:
[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God --

Please see post 5,183...Ephesians 2:8 does NOT teach that saving faith is a gift, although in an English translation it can look that way.

Kind of depends some on what you consider the antecedent of *it*.

It can easily be read that the salvation is the gift and it makes more sense within the context, because it goes on to say, *not of works so that no man should boast*.

You don’t work to earn a gift.
