I went to a Jesuit institution and never heard that tact which is known as the Socratic method. Perhaps it is part of the conspiracy theory in conjunction with the UFOs formulated by one of your types. Did you attend a Jesuit school or is this bit of wisdom your own prejudices contravening the words of our Savior? Were you introduced to The doctrine of mental reservation, or the doctrine of mental equivocation?

How about
THE DOCTRINE OF
“MENTAL & THEOLOGICAL WANDERING”
. . . A HALLOWED CARDINAL DOCTRINE OF THE PRETEND FAITH AS PROPAGATED BY THE ALICE IN WONDERLAND SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY AND REALITY MANGLING.
. . . a kind of distorted theological version of dodge ball with a straight face—preferably a long face.

I was introduced to the Word of God and the indwelling of the Spirit something that appears to be wanting in the responses of your group . Jesus commands us to let our Yes mean Yes and our No mean No. You would be well advised to follow that rule.
